Jordan Moss is a dedicated sports enthusiast whose journey is a testament to resilience and hope. An accomplished golfer at county and national levels, Jordan also enjoys weightlifting, swimming, and running. Despite a near-fatal battle with melanoma, he remains passionate about his sports and maintains a competitive handicap.

Jordan’s melanoma journey began in 2011 with a wide local excision to remove a mole from his back. After a positive biopsy, he underwent a full excision of lymph nodes in his left armpit. By February 2012, he was relieved to hear that the lymph nodes were clear.

However, in early 2022, Jordan began to experience odd symptoms while running, feeling as though his heart couldn’t keep up. After extensive medical evaluations, doctors discovered three tumours and fluid around in his heart. A heart drain was a lifesaver, but further scans revealed that cancer had spread to most of his organs, including the lungs, liver, pancreas, eyes, skin, muscles, bones, pelvis, spine, and ribs. Given just three weeks to live, he faced a daunting prognosis.

The following two years were a whirlwind of surgeries, medications, clinical trials, and intense personal struggles. Throughout this period, golf provided a vital outlet, and he continued to play despite experiencing nerve damage. Finally, after completing a regimen of Ipi/Nivo combined immunotherapy, a CTDNA blood test showed no detectable cancer in his bloodstream or body.

Today, Jordan is back to competing in golf, winning matches in a county competition for his club, and has returned to swimming and light weightlifting. His greatest joy comes from his family – he’s happily married and a proud father of three beautiful children, ages 10, 8, and 4. His experience has made him a passionate advocate for sun safety and melanoma awareness. He is committed to sharing his story to inspire others and promote the importance of early detection and prevention.
