Founding Sunguard Ambassador
Elizabeth “Eliz ” McColgan is a Scottish long-distance runner and one of Britain’s most respected endurance athletes. Olympic silver medallist and world 10,000m champion , Commonwealth Games double gold medallist. Winner or London, Tokyo and New York marathons, she has represented Scotland and Great Britain at the highest level of international sport throughout her career.
Alongside her achievements in athletics, Eliz is increasingly using her voice to support conversations around athlete wellbeing, health and long-term prevention. Following her own skin cancer diagnosis, she has become passionate about helping raise awareness of ultraviolet exposure within sport and outdoor environments, particularly amongst younger athletes.
As a Founding Sunguard Ambassador, Eliz supports the Melanoma Fund’s mission to help embed sun and heat protection into sporting culture through education, behaviour change and visible protection practices across outdoor environments.
