Rhos Hawes

Rhos has medalled at national and international competitions, crewing a 49er high-performance dinghy, and is notably the 2017 U.23 European Champion and 2020 Olympic reserve.

He agreed to become a Sunguard as spending his whole life training on the water, his skin has been regularly exposed to the elements. Rhos recognises that although sun protection is important, is it often overlooked, and sees Sunguarding Sport as a great opportunity to create awareness.

“As athletes, we spend so much time searching for performance gains in all areas yet so often overlook the simple self-care habits that really make the difference in the long term. To me, sun protection whilst training at sea is routine, as it should be for all.”
